Terms and Conditons of Service
These Terms and Conditions form the basis of the agreement between LPV Removals Oxfordshire (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and you (“the customer”) for the provision of removal and relocation services. By confirming a booking with us, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
1. Our Responsibilities
- We will carry out the removal and transportation of your goods with due care and diligence.
- Our responsibility is to deliver your goods to the des na on in the same condi on they were in at the me of packing or being made ready for transport.
- We accept no liability for loss or damage unless caused by our proven negligence or breach of contract.
2. Customer Responsibilities
- Ensure either you or an authorised representative is present throughout the move.
- Reserve adequate parking space for our vehicles at both collection and delivery addresses.
- Cover the cost of any parking penalties incurred due to failure to reserve parking.
- Take reasonable care to ensure nothing is le behind or taken in error.
- Secure premises and safeguard items if they are to be left unattended.
- Defrost, empty, and clean refrigerators and freezers in advance (we are not liable for their contents).
- Declare all items to be moved accurately.
3. Excluded Items
- Hazardous or explosive materials, including gas bottles, aerosols, flammable paints, firearms, and ammunition.
- Prohibited or stolen goods, illegal substances (including drugs).
- Items likely to attract vermin or cause infestation.
- Living creatures, including pets, fish, or other animals.
- Items requiring governmental permissions, licenses, or customs declarations.
- If any excluded goods are included without prior written consent:
- We accept no liability for loss or damage.
- You will be liable for any costs, claims, fines, or damages incurred.
- We reserve the right to dispose of such items without notice.
4. Ownership of Goods
- You confirm that you are either the legal owner of the goods to be moved or have authority from the owner(s) to enter into this agreement.
- You agree to indemnify us against any claims or expenses if this declaration proves to be false.
5. Services Not Included (Unless Otherwise Agreed in Writing)
- Disconnec on or reconnec on of appliances or electrical equipment (unless no specialist fi ng is required).
- Moving items from or to loft spaces without proper lighting and safe access.
6. Insurance & Liability
- Our Goods in Transit Insurance provides cover up to £10,000 per vehicle load.
- Any loss or damage must be reported by email on the same day of the move.
- Insurance claims are handled independently from our service fees. Payment for the service must be made in full regardless of any claim outcome.
7. Payment Terms
- Full payment is due immediately upon completion of the service, via cash or bank transfer.
- A 30% deposit may be required to confirm your booking.
- Late payments may be subject to a 10% daily charge.
8. Waiting Time Charges
- If unloading cannot begin due to key collection delays a er 1:30 PM, the following charges apply:
- 1 operative: £40/hour
- 2 operatives: £80/hour
- 3 operatives: £100/hour
- Charged in full-hour increments from the start of each hour.
9. Hourly Rate Moves
- Minimum charge: 2 hours.
- Time is charged from the start of work at the collection address until completion at the delivery address.
- Any portion of an hour beyond the 2-hour minimum is charged as a full hour.
- A call-out fee may apply.
10. Transport Method & Route
- We reserve the right to determine the method and route of transportation.
- We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control.
- We will notify you of any significant changes in delivery times.
11. Additional Charges
- If the volume of goods exceeds what was originally disclosed.
- If a fixed-price quote assumes lift access but the lift is unavailable on move day.
- Significant increases in the number of items to be moved (beyond 5–10 extra boxes) may incur additional charges.
12. On-Site Valuations
- Quotes based on in-person assessments cover only the items agreed at the time.
- Any additions will be charged separately.
13. Postponement & Cancellation
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- For postponed jobs, the deposit will be retained and applied to the rescheduled date.
- For cancelled jobs, the deposit is forfeited.
14. Claims Procedure
- All claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing on the day of the move.
15. Damage to Property
- We accept liability for direct property damage only when caused by our negligence.
- We are not liable where damage occurs due to your instructions or circumstances beyond our control.
16. Excluded Items
- We do not move perishable, illegal, or dangerous goods, living creatures, or hazardous substances.
- Such items discovered without prior disclosure will be removed at your cost.
17. Validity of Quotation
- All quotes are valid for 90 days from the date of issue.
- Bookings must be confirmed in writing via email.
